Information Rules! Just Ask Julian Assange
How many times have I said that people who search online are looking for INFORMATION? And how often have I said that Information marketing is one of the best ways to make money online.
Today I just wanted to point out what a voracious appetite people have for information. For those who just arrived from another planet, a guy named Julian Assange has a website named WikiLeaks, and it’s all about information. Oh, you’ve heard of it.
I’m not going to talk about the political implications here, or whether he’s a dirtbag, but I do want to drive home the point that the information he gathered and posted on his blog has gotten the whole world talking. Why? Because it’s so controversial.
All the news networks are talking, and his website has had millions of hits. I’m sure a lot of the visitors to his site are like people who slow down at a car accident – hoping to see something gruesome.
Just look at this => Watch the stories appear in RealTime here!
However, just think about this… If you could create an information product that is extremely controversial in whatever niche you’re working, you could end up attracting the attention of hundreds or thousands of people too.
Write a blog post, or a free report that takes a different point of view – one that most people disagree works well. Do not be angry or belligerant, Keep it friendly, and just try to make valid points from the opposing viewpoint. Heck, politicians do
this all the time. Ha!
Have you heard of The Rich Jerk? (that’s not an affiliate link) He became wildly successful by capitalizing on being obnoxious instead of telling you how much he cares and blah blah blah. If you come up with something that works for you, be sure to return and add a comment.
